    Plano/McKinney TBH'ers, I need some input

So, I am moving up to the Plano/frisco area come January, but McKinney is also on my list if potential places to live. I was wondering if any of y'all shoot your bows in your back yard?? Do you do this only because you have a privacy fence, or is it simply allowed? I Read the McKinney ordinance and I'm still confused, so I figured I'd see what you guys are doing before I did something stupid.

Most cities have an ordinance against it. Plano has an indoor range though.

In Plano, it is legal to shoot in your yard, but don't let the arrow cross a property line.

I have a range set up in my backyard, and I have to shoot through an open gate into the backyard.

Not legal to shoot in the Plano parks.

Although I do practice at times in by back yard, my understanding is that it is not legal to do so here in McKinney.

Frisco has a city ordinance against it as well.
There is an indoor range in Frisco too.

I live in Parker, in a neighborhood that are 1 acre tracts. I shoot in my driveway and my backyard. A buddy and me shoot a game of 9 ball behind the shop in Frisco everyday since the 1st of sept. Haven't had any issues.

You might consider joining Collin County Bowhunters. I joined a few months ago and while it is a longer drive for me from Frisco, it isn't that far from Mc Kinney.

I was told by the Allen PD, where I live, you had to be on 10 acres or more for a projectile. When I called I told them I was sighting in my Bow. One of Allen's finest, I'm ex PoPo, so they are all the finest, was very inquisitive as to what I was doing. So I told him that I had called dispatch and both a Lt and Sgt said it was ok on 10 acres or more. He left. I hurried up. Buch of yuppies up here that don't get it. For me to get a 20 yd shot in my backyard, I stand inside with the door open.

But I've never shot within the city limits. Lol
