    Would you rather...

I hunt in Jack county and my specific lease does not have very many good big trees, so I am some what forced to hunt off the ground. I have 1 tripod, and 1 tree stand, and 3 ground blinds. This is only my second season with bow in hand just curious to yalls thoughts on how much harder it is on the ground, if harder at all? So would yall rather be on the ground or up in the air?

You can get away with more movement in ground blind. Killed bunch of deer out of my Double Bulls in Jack/Young Counties.

It's not harder. I actually think if the blinds are pre set in advance 2-3 weeks it might be easier. They are better at holding in scent also. I hunt out of both ground and trees/tripods.

Modern ground blinds like double bull are one of the greatest innovation in bowhunting. I have had deer 2ft outside my blind and never spooked. Put it up early and brush it in and hunt.

I only hunt on ground but I'd love to hunt from a tree. You can get away with a lot of movement in a ground blind and the deer come really close to you. Set it up early.

X2... I hunt Jack County and have one big oak on our place and it happens to be next to the house. I prefer ground blind as stated above. Brush it in real good and you will be just fine. If you want the off the ground feeling I like setting up 10'-12' tripods in the middle of mesquite trees or small oaks depending on what you have.

Yep if you get them set up weeks or months beforehand, you can pretty much get away with a lot of movement. I set mine up in July or so and don't even brush them in. Deer don't mind at all.

No need to brush in. I've set blinds up and hunted them same deer and see deer.

Ground blinds + me + deer = fail!
Deer will not come near me in a ground blind. I've set em out early, brushed, no brush, it just doesn't happen for me like TBH and tv shows it does for others.
Put me up 10ft+ in the air and deer will eat low hanging leaves from the tree I'm sitting in.
I've given up on ground blinds for deer, I only use them for turkey.

I've been a "ground pounder" for years. I actually prefer it. Can get away with a lot more movement than being exposed up in the air.

Rather than putting up a pop-up or box blind, try making a ground blind from brush....or just find a nice spot in a clump of cedars. Try to find a place near a travel corridor and try hand corning (sweet feed works well also). I bet you have good luck.

When I have to sweat my butt off climbing in my climber I wish I was in a ground blind. But most of the time I love hunting up high.
