    Electrician Needed in Waxahachie

I need 2 receptacles installed in my garage. I have everything needed to do the job just too paranoid to do it myself. My brother & my cousin are both electricians but getting them to help is impossible!!! If you know an electrician that'll do such a small job in Waxahachie please PM me info. Thanks!

How is the access above the garage?

WIDE open & about 7' high! It will be a super easy job. I'll even help. I'm just not sure what to tap into to get the power. I can cut out the boxes, install boxes, install/wire receptacles & run the wire. I just can't figure out where to tap into to & put the junction box. I pretty much need an electrician to guide me for the 20 minutes it'll take to figure out which wires to get power from & tap into them. I can have holes drilled & boxes cut in before the electrician even gets here.

What are you trying to run on your plugs? if nothing with a continuous load, Just branch off another plug. I assume you atleast have one plug in the garage, just tie into it and jump through the attic to where you want your new ones.

I'll be running a fridge/freezer and a deep freeze off 1 receptacle. Power tools off the other. There are 2 plugs in the garage now. 1 is a GFI(that I believe is on a dedicated breaker) & 1 is in ceiling for garage door opener that is on a breaker w/5 lights. I'm paranoid about tapping downstream of the GFI & it tripping (when I use a chop saw, circular saw, etc.) & takin gout the fridge & freezer.

Just checked. The GFI is NOT the only thing on that breaker. It's kinda confusing because it was a model home. The garage was the 'office' then converted to a garage. I don't have enough knowledge to be able to tell what they eliminated, swapped around, etc.

By code you'll need a dedicated circuit for appliances, and in all reality I've heard horror stories of people having problems with fridges and freezers on gfi's. which means with that you'll need to tap of a breaker in the panel for that circuit. I would guess your two plugs in the garage are gfi protected by the one gfi. What's the space above the panel look like? And do you have room in your panel?

Do you have any spare breaker slots?

It sounds like you might want two dedicated lines.

There are 4 or 5 open slots for more breakers. 200A Square D panel.

Is it code all plugs in garage are GFI protected? I really don't want to run a fridge/freezer & freezer off GFI's. I can tap into the panel no problem.

I am 70 miles from waxahachie, I can try to make it down there to help if diesel is paid for. I can help for free, on Wednesday or Friday about 6 in the evening. Diesel would be $50.

Either that, or I'm on my way back to Denton from uvalde and can stop and give advise on my way through, but just be aware. My gf is with me and I know she would be complaining, and I already know I can't fully help do it today. Shoot me a pm.

I really appreciate your offer. If I go straight to the panel w/a new breaker I can do that no problem. I'm thinking that's the route I'll go. Are GFI's required in garages? Seems much easier even though it'll cost me 2x's as much. You don't need to come by. I really do appreciate your offer though. Be safe on your travels.

I'm not 100% positive on that ruling. I would say just go ahead and use regular receptacles, but I assume someone will chime in and disagree. If your outside the city limits I wouldn't worry about it. And by the way your fridge circuit needs to be 20A with #12 pulled to it. Not sure on amps on chop saws etc. but it wouldn't hurt to do both of them like that. No problem and thanks!
