The Mesquite Bean in Merkel, Texas
My hometown.. thats about your only option if you really want to eat between the two towns.
Look up Allens Chicken in Sweetwater. Youve probably never eaten at a place like it.

Ok what's good in Abilene or Sweetwater? If anything.
From the way it sounds I may be out of luck.

I can give you a pile of places in Abilene. My first stop is La Popular Bakery for carne guisada tacos and lemonade when I go home.

Haven't been there in a few years but Joe Allen's on Treadway Blvd. was my favorite.

I stop off at the one on Pine every time I swing through for the same meal.
