    Need help

Just finished buying and closing on my house and land a month ago, and wife went out to go to the store, and the car wouldn't run. Did a number on the wiring and fuel line... Look under the hood and I find pack rats, So can anyone tell me how to keep them out of my vehicles? Don't want to use any rat poison, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Already got rat traps out... If anyone knows a good, honesty mechanic around Corpus/George West area that would also help.

    Thanks,

Might try mothballs to keep rats out.

You live in the country you better start putting rat poison out if you don't want those expensive repair bills. I leave the hood open on vehicles and tractors and that helps a lot to keep the rats and mice out. Get some of those black bait boxes and keep them filled with rat bait. I just bought 8lbs of poison at Atwoods. I never let my bait boxes run out of poison. It only took one wiring harness chewed up to convince me to keep poison out 24/7.

Not being smart. But a cat would work.

Wow, what a co incidence. Funny you ask ( not being funny ) but, when I took our dogs out for their final run of the night, open the doors & both stopped (which they've never done before) just right out side the door. I turned the back porch lights on to see why, sure enough, our cat laid his rat kill just right by the door (no wonder he was making all that noise, to let us know he had a surprise for us) his first rat kill. but yes, to answer your question, cat works every time. Heck, I may even start a wall of fame for our cat with all the kills he brings us. Mothballs are great as well if you want those critters away from under the hood of your vehicle.

HE STILL HAS SOME DRIED BLOOD ON HIS FACE.

Leave the hood up about a quarter of the way. Well, either that or put a snake under there. I think the hood idea is better.

Tie a rattle snake to the headers.

I know it sounds dumb but I figure if its your wife's car it's ok. But we leave dryer sheets in our camper. Never had a rat one. A sweet old lady told us that trick.
