OT Question for Mods......

Hey got a question for the mods and or Micheal.....

I notice on other websites(forums) that spamers hit pretty regularly and are a pain in the rear end, is there any tips you can offer to reduce the number of them that get through and have a chance to make posts.....I was recently made a mod at one of the forums and it seems every morning before work I have to spend time deleting bad stuff.. any help would be welcomed..

Dale on the other site,, we went to administration activating accounts not just letting them activate it themselves. I get lots of emails I just have to take a look at the nonactive members and delete the junk..takes 30 seconds.We were getting Brittney naked drugs and just bots with adds. Whats your sight??

Tim, were getting pretty much the same stuff, ****, drugs and other weird stuff....sent a PM..

What software are you using? You might see if there is an update available to prevent that kind of activity. I don't think there is anything special we do, other than require registration, and I think you have to key in an automatically generated code before it will allow you to register. That prevents most of the spider-type spam.

Pop I think that its phbb problem. We do the same thing as yall but they just love to hack it.Phbb websites are what both the boards are hosted by..
