    Sinus Issues

Does anyone else have constant sinus issues? Bad enough to have something done about it?

I've had bad sinus problems all my life. I've had 2 sinus infections in the last 2 months. I also have snoring problems and I'm wondering if it's related. Has anyone been to a specialist for this type of thing? Anyone had the sinus surgery?

I'm sick of being sick all the time and want to do something about it. Can anyone recommend a specialist in the Houston area?

    Thanks!

I do, I can't hardy ever sleep on my right side cause it closes my nostral too much to breathe. I don't like seeing doctors so I just sleep on my back or left side. Been like that most of my life. I maybe get 2 months out of the year I can breathe free and clear.

Sounds like polyps. Go see an ear nose and throat specialist.

It is definitely life changing when you can breathe and smell right.

i had a bad run with my sinuses a few years ago, thought my issues were allergy related so i tried every allergy med and decongestant on the shelves...none worked so i finally gave in and went to see an allergy Dr. I was tested and discovered i was not significantly allergic to anything to be causing my sinus issues. After MRIs to check for structural issues were clear my Dr. finally suspected i was having acid reflux during the night...essentially stomach acid making it's way up to my sinuses and irritating them and causing them to swell. he put me on an acid reflux med and my sinus problems have been resolved and i have less heartburn as a bonus!

anyhow, just thought i would share a crazy resolution to my issues...never would have thought that stomach acid was causing all of my problems.

        good luck.

My sinuses were almost completely destroyed in a car accident 10 years ago.

I had 70% blockage on one side and 30% blockage on the other. It took five years to get insurance to agree to pay for the surgery. They did a total rebuild of both sides. It was absolutely worth having! Didn't realize just how bad it was until after the surgery. Then I was really mad it took so long to get done.

Go see an ENT (Ear Nose Throat specialist). If you snore, be honest about it, tell them. They will tell you what the options are for your case. Expect a CT scan and maybe even a sleep study before they give you options.

Good luck. For me it was absolutely worth it.

using anything but distilled or sterile water, and you will make life hell from the stuff in tap water.
