    Replacing shower options?

My house was built in the late 60s. Shower in the master bedroom has started leaking, not the plumbing but the tile itself

Was going to reseal it but have about decided that I am ready to tear it out and redo it.
Question is what are my options?
Wife does not care for replacing tile with tile, no feasible way to install a fiberglass enclosure. Any other options or suggestions?

Might end up back with tile but wanted to know what else was possible

Are you sure it is the tile that is allowing water to leak?, it is usually the shower pan. You can replace just the shower pan. If you replace the pan you will also need to replace the tile on the floor of the shower and about the first 18" of the wall tile. You can usually find a tile that is complimentary to the exisiting wall tile.

We had a faux marble shower surround built for our bath.. easy to keep clean and reasonably priced.

FRP panels might be something for you to look at,$35 a sheet + the molding.
Just be sure the pan and drain are not the culprit.

Stucco? I would be scared it would leak plus I dont think it would fly with the wife as I imagine it would be hell to clean
Ken the house was built in the late 60s, not thinking I could find anything close to matching the tile. On top of that if I have to tear that much out I might as well do it all.

FRP? I will check on that

Slew I will call you in a bit

Marble Masters is who I remember using to redo a shower when we lived in Seguin. I have the same scenario right now in one of our bathrooms in our lodge and will probably use the same ones again.

I built a custom walk in tile shower in our 70s model house. It just had a cheap shower stall. Took me a while, teaching myself as I went, but the result was worth the time.
