    Nice 6 with no brows

I know the pics aren't the best, but, this six obviously has no brows. Unfortunately, if I take him, the really big boy roaming the area and the rarely seen, but shows once in a blue moon drop tine buck would be off limits. One trophy buck and one cull county. What does the GS have this 6 scored at? Click image for larger version

Maybe he means AR county, not referring to his lease rules but rather the county restrictions? "Trophy" being 13" and "cull" being spike? Just a guess. You guys screaming SHOOT EM wouldn't want to burn your only buck tag on that buck if a bigger trophy deer was walking around, would you? I wouldn't...unless it got deeper into the season.

Management buck all day long. Not trophy!
            And 6pt of a lifetime.

Sorry, I should have clarified, AR County. Cull has to have one unbranched antler.

This is what I dont like at all about the AR law. You cant cull anything over 13" or your season is over. He should be taken out early. You could do what I do and have someone else take him in exchange for feed or something.

That is a trophy buck in my book. You don't see big 6's like that every year. If he walked out on me I would be happy to take him as my trophy.

Do t bank on that drop time buck to ever to show. If you would shoot him late in the season the shoot him early in the season before someone else does and you end up with am extra tab. Can't eat the tags.

Would you shoot him on the last day of season?

If so I think that answers your question.

                      He's a real nice 6pt I'd take him.

The drop is only a guest here and only rarely shows. The BIG 10 is not a guest though. This is his territory. I have hunted him exclusively for the past 3 seasons. He is nocturnal as heck until the rut gets going. I think I will take the 6 here first chance I get. I've only killed does and culls( unbranched) for the last 5 seasons due to exclusively targeting a specific buck. I do it at my lease in Robertson County and at my Harris County spot. I'm gonna try to break that habit this season. Don't get me wrong, I could have killed a trophy buck each of the last 5 seasons, but, passed b/c it was my "target" buck.

So, still no estimates on score for this 6?

108" for your 6. I wouldn't want him to spread the no brow gene any mass. The state dosn't dictate what a cull is or isn't.

It does in a roundabout way in Antler Restricted Counties. It must have one unbranched antler to be legally taken if less than 13", making it a cull. If its over 13", as this one is, it's your one "trophy" buck for the AR county.
