Going to scout out a new area this weekend and after looking at google earth I have decided (for now) on 4 possible locations. I know the pic may be hard to see, but basically what it is is an area of planted pines surrounded by hardwoods and hardwood ridges. There seems to be a faint trail leading from the road through the planted pines. I cant enter the area from the north or east due to private lands. Only access will be from the south or west. I labeled 2 possible parking areas. Its approximately 350 yards from parking area #1 to stand site #1 but will have to cross thick woods. From parking site #2 it is also approx 350 yards to stand site # 2. Looks like I could use the trail then walk the edge of the hardwoods to get to it. Of course stand sites 3 & 4 are even furthur, actually about double somewhere in the 600-700 yard range from either parking area. Question is do yall think I could access any of these stands crossing all this ground without spooking every deer nearby? Of course I will watch the wind and take that into effect, and will try and cut a little trail where I can, but I dont want to call to much attention to it so others wont know I'm going in there. There is no ATV access, just walk in or possibly a bike on the trail through the planted pines. I also will be carrying a climber each time.
