    Muscadine grapes

Last year we started out to pick a few and ended up with a 5gal bucket full of grapes.

This year we spent 2hrs looking and barely got enough to cover the bottom of the bucket

Not sure but I think the heat and drought last year affected this crop. It was wetter this year.

We had a fairly good crop here in Austin county, but most were ripe at least a month and a half ago.

Same here, Lowry. Seems like about half, or less, grapes this year than last.

            Horrible year here...

I always make wine and jelly and the vines didn't produce squat; I was very disappointed.

August is usually when they are falling

Maybe I missed them but I have been watching the vines on my place pretty regular.

Gonna go back through pics from last year and check dates just to make sure.

We had quite a few.....I saw several piles of the casings/hulls that some animal discarded. Im guessing both deer and coons eat them??

Same thing on our leases over Labor Day weekend. Last year, the same weekend, we had a lot of muscadines. This year, a handfull.

Neither my mom nor I got any this year, either. Last year we were covered up, but I "didn't have time to mess with them." I'm an idiot.

Found a few at my lease last weekend, but not many. Definitely less than last year.
