    Fire!!!!!!

Just had a real "close to the house" field fire. Not sure what happened but the Richland volunteer fire dept is on the ball. I couldn't handle it with just me and my cousin. Still not sure what happened, but my block target was sitting against a bail of hay, next the we know we smelt smoke and looked out front and the bail and target were ingulfed in flames. Thank god I mowed yesterday, cause it would have been bad. I can only guess that maybe when we were shooting one of the field tips hit an old broke off point and sparked a fire. Still scratching my head, but we shot about 45 minutes before the fire started. Going back outside to keep an eye on it and pat out some smokey spots.

If you made a low shot and hit a rock that caused a spark near the bail it could have smoldered for a little bit then flamed up. As hot and dry as it is it doesnt take much of a spark to start a fire. Had a guy burn 300 acres up here by mowing around his feeder.

Now we know you can start a fire with two field points who needs matches. Glad in was not any worst than that.
