    Paypal Question

I've used Paypal for several years but only for paying, never receiving money.

Can I receive money for a sold item if I only have Paypal set up through a credit card? Or do you have to have it linked to a bank account to receive money?

If a linked bank account isn't needed, what is the process if only using a credit card? Does the incoming money sit in my paypal account, does it post to my credit card balance each month?

The money will sit in your paypal account and you can use it against new purchases or have them send you a check.

my PP is linked to my bank account to draw funds as a "backup" if I don't have enough funds in my PP account

I also have a PP MasterCard Business debit card that I use for buying transactions.

when I sell goods, my PP balance increases

I don't know if it has changed but a few years ago as long as the "money" stayed in your PP account (you never physically had it), there was no charge. It was not until you had a check sent to you or a direct deposit to another account that the percentage/profit for PP was taken out.

I had a person pay me some money for something and it was in my PP account. A few weeks later I bought something through PP for more than I had in my PP account. PP used my PP money first and then deducted the remainder from my credit card.

Like I had $100 in my PP account. I bought an item for $150 so they deducted the $100 from my PP account (now at $0) and another $50 from a credit card. I never paid any 3% feet for using the service. The person that got my $150 might have actually taken the money and he had to pay the fee for the transaction.

There is a small fee but they will just send you a check. Last time I did it the fee was $1 but I'm sure it's gone up some now like everything else.

I'm linked to my bank account. I can transfer money from my PP to my checking, but it takes 3 days to process over.
