    Another snake ID thread

    Ok experts, what do I have here? It's close to a coral, but I don't think it is. This was in Encinal. The snake was about 18" long and maybe 1/2" in diameter.

              He had mottled yellow racing stripes down both sides. I was thinking some kind of banded king snake as well.

                    Not a coral - look at its belly. It's a Texas longnose.

                            Was just about to post this up. They are beautiful snakes, and the ones we have seen are very docile and are easily handled.

                              Coral snakes stripes will go all the way around the body, this guy only has them on the top of his body.
