My new Pup

I had to put down my 8 year old Chocolate Lab this summer. He became just as much my dad's dog as he was mine after I moved off to college. He was the greatest bird dog we have ever had.

Therefore, we decided to get a new pup this past weekend. We have always had English Pointers and Labs, but never German Shorthairs. However, one look at the puppys and it was all over.

He was 8 weeks old Saturday and his name is Ruger. He will already retrieve and we will start working him on wings soon.

Great looking pup...have a 3 month gsp myself...retrieves great but havent started working wings yet. Let me know how things go b/c I'm in college myself and this is my first go with a pointer of my own.
