I just got permission to hunt deer on this place. I've been hunting hogs on it since March and have had pretty good luck. It has a dry creek that runs thru the west side, north to south. Other side of the creek is toll road 130. The other 3 sides, neighbors, are all pretty wooded with no houses. The place is mostly raw land with the stock tank you see and one road to it from the gate entrance. This pic is top, north, bottom, south. The hogs have come from the south to the tank, feeder, with very few deer on the game cam. We've seen lots of deer sign further south and north along the creek, and east. I'm thinking of putting 4 bow stands up mainly in the heavily wooded areas, with 1 rifle stand up in the highest section of land, east of the tank with feeders at each. It's only 150 acres, but only 2 of us will be hunting it. What do y'all think? Too many stands? My thinking is so I don't over hunt each stand.

Thanks slick. Got the place from a man at church. He's been letting me thin the Hogs out. I asked him today if I could lease it. He said, "help me keep an eye on the 10 head of cattle, the water and fences, and take the pastor hunting, and you can shoot all the deer you want." So, can't beat basically a free place to hunt.

Alright folks. Set up 3 feeders and stands. Rain keeps me out of there because it floods and I can't get in so I haven't been out there as much as I'd like. My son went out there today to fill the feeders and saw a real nice 9pt buck with about an 18" spread and a nice little 6pt plus deer and hog sign everywhere. This is great news. Gonna start hunting hard this weekend and hopefully put one in the freezer. All 3 stands have a max shot of less than 30yrds due to the thick brush. Set up on trails in small clearings. Thanks for all the advice.
