Even though the writer - Thayer Evans - is a longtime OSU hater and OU homer, there is no way it is all B.S., but there are some things that don't add up. First of all, even though I follow the program I have never even heard of most of these guys who say they got money, and almost all of them were kicked off the team after a year or two. Also the number of ex OSU players who have taken to Twitter, Facebook, etc defending OSU and calling the article nonsense is getting bigger by the hour. SI couldn't find one top player during that time who would say they took money? Not one? I'm sure they were interviewed, why is no one quoted denying it? Does some under-the-table booster money flow at most big schools? Absolutely, it would be naïve to think otherwise. But boosters and coaches handing out cash in the locker room and "making it rain" on team planes in full view of reporters and countless others? Hmmm.... In the last 24 hours 4 players in the article who were quoted as saying they were paid for "sham jobs" have said the reporter totally misrepresented what they said. Once again, I am not naïve enough to think OSU has been completely clean but this smells like a hatchet job. And the accusation that players had tutors doing their school work for them, and counselors directed them to easy classes? That's just shocking ! I can't imagine that being done for any college athlete
It will be interesting to see how this plays out...
I remember Shaw and Pogi vividly. They were touted as studs and I don't think they lived up to it.

I coached with a guy who played on the 2005 UT National Championship Team. He told me things about what happened with them that echo this OSU story very closely. Nothing I read in the story surprised me after having heard what he told me. I would step out on a limb and feel pretty safe assuming that this happens in most college programs to one degree or another.

No, do not want Stoops. That is all. I want some young firey guy to hand him his head a few times and run him out of Norman. Duh.

Vegas usually knows what's up. However, when I bet, the smart play is take the home team getting points on a big stage. This might be the biggest stage to ever come to Kyle Field.

What you have them at last year?

Call me crazy, or perhaps even inappropriate, but in terms of the future recruiting in Texas and the direction of the two programs (UT and A&M), who do you think will be able to appeal to this generation of stars??? The old white guy in the reading glasses or the young black guy with all the "swagger".

I watched the Rewind show on LHN last night. Don't ask me why. But what I saw was an old dude that may be past his prime.

Pretty sure I had Bama winning. I dont remember the spread.

It was not a big stage game for Bama

Look across the field on Saturday for an Old Dude who sees young men as football players.

                        .

Agreed. But all it takes is UT stepping out and hiring a coach that has those qualities and they are back to the top. It happens. They have the money and Charles Manson could recruit there with success. It won't take much in the way of a football mind to have success at UT. My three year old could coach the team to 7 wins and sign multiple 5 star recruits in February just by putting on a burnt orange cap.

Was it a lull after a win over LSU? They only played slow in the first quarter, were they underwhelmed?
