"For every Big 12 team with an eye on winning a conference title this season, the Baylor offense is going to have to be dealt with at some point.

    And it won’t be easy.

Two weeks into the season, the Bears are atop the national rankings in Total QBR (97.9), yards per game (735), yards per play (9.67) and goal-to-go efficiency (100 percent). BU also ranks among the nation’s top 15 in rushing yards at 303.5 (14) and passing yards at 431.5 (4).

The Bears offense has been that dominant during a 69-3 win over Wofford in Week 1 and a 70-13 win over Buffalo in Week 2.

Even more revealing is the Bears’ offensive production when the game was still close. Here’s a look at five revealing stats when the Bears have had the ball during a three-possession game (i.e. opponent within 21 points):

•Baylor is averaging 11.91 yards per play in that scenario, totaling 536 yards on 45 plays. They’ve scored 63 total points with a time of possession of 5:01.
•Bryce Petty is 15 of 18 (83.3 percent) for 359 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions in that scenario. He’s averaging an eye-popping 19.9 yards per attempt.
•The Bears score once every five plays (20 percent of the time) and gain a first down 48.8 percent of the time, essentially every other play in that scenario.
•BU has converted 5 of 6 third-down conversion attempts in that scenario.
•The Bears have scored five touchdowns in five red-zone attempts, undoubtedly helped by Lache Seastrunk’s 14 red-zone carries for 114 yards (8.14 yards per carry) and two touchdowns."

Consider this a PSA for those who like to boast about having the "best." Happy to be of service!

BTW - giving props where props are due, Tech is no. 2 in passing yard per game cited above (Cal. at no. 1, Oregon St. at #3, A&M at #6)

    Kudos amigo ......

lets not forget it's a marathon, not a sprint

Easy guys lets stay on track. Isn't Nebraska playing another ranked team that's ranked?
Should be a good game there

@Texas0205: Ole Miss SR DB Charles Sawyer, who was expected to play this weekend and bolster the Rebels secondary, was arrested for DWI. Status unknown.

We may need all the help we can get.

Aggies are global - geographically spread out , known mostly as Boss, or Mister, or the guy on the top floor calling the shots.. you will see maroon in the crowds in mass regardless of where the games are being played. Your comment was incorrect.

Why would anyone that is not playing against Johnny wish him to fail?
            Pettiness?
Not when compared to the other most hated schools....ND, USC, Texas, etc. Relatively speaking, Ags tend to be more localized by nature. Though there are a whole crap load of them, they tend to come from close range, and stay reasonably close to home. It's not bad in any way, it's just true. I wish I could find the stinkin map I saw last year regarding this very subject....

Because he's a spoiled, cocky little brat, with a ****ty attitude, who wants all the attention he can get when it's time to party. But once it's no longer convenient for him, then he just want's to be little Johnny. And probably partly because he's a hell of a football player.

I saw a map just a few days ago where voting was done on the intrawebs for fanbases. Ironically Texas took up a larger majority of counties nationwide than anyone else. There were only two counties in Texas that the Ags Won. Guess where they were?

Opps, my bad only one county in Texas for A&M. Lsu had two. LOL.

Thanks Amigo! I think Briles has the marathon concept down, though, since his offense lead wire - to wire last year, was 2nd overall in 2011 and was 13th overall in 2010. So it's really nothing new. Do you mind updating the trophy now? Wouldn't want you to look ignorant.
