My sister who was a high school councilor at Peaster a couple of years ago, said that they had a club type football team at one time.

Brock now has football in the district but not varsity yet.

Peaster will likely never have football after what happened to Krum's legendary basketball program once they started playing football...still good, but no longer great. Some of these basketball meccas avoid football because it seriously dilutes the talent that comes out for hoops.

You do not have to live in the district to attend Weatherford. Definitely the best baseball program around for many many miles. Rebuilding the football program under the direction of Coach Nealms.

        How old is your son?

I always thought it was funny that Peaster doesn't have a football team but they have a marching band. Their band (I believe) marches at Perrin-Whitt home games and goes to marching competitions (they always come to the one we host in De Leon) and go to UIL marching contest. Don't understand why they don't have football too.

They have never had football in the school. It's a great school though! My son transferred there for basketball from springtown. Had a great time there. Coach henderson is no longer there but his longtime assistant coach smith is. They are about to get really good again. Good luck. They have had some good baseball teams there also.

You can transfer for athletic intent in texas? In pa you would sit out a year if athletic intent is proven.

Not for athletic intent, but due to funding many schools will allow anyone to attend. If they happen to also participate in athletics, that's fine too.

I may have to look into that.

He is 13 but will be 15 by the time we move out there.

I as well as my dad and all my uncles graduated from Peaster. I still live in Peaster and work in this area quite often. No football here. Basketball is king in Peaster. I never played because sports interfered with deer season. Shoot me a PM with any questions on the sycophantic bureaucrats of the Peaster ISD School Board.

If you want awesome football...... Gordon or Strawn is where it's at.

It's not a deal breaker, just disappointing. Sounds like I may have other options anyway.

That's the area I wanted to live. My boy won't be playing football forever.

This area is great. I love living here. Pct 2 in Parker county is the best. Taxes won't kill you.
