I'm thinking he had something plugging his barrel.
Nothing in the barrels but the chokes.

I don't think they are junk, his was defiantly. I know a few people who gave them and really like them. Sorry he had a bad experience with his but thankfully he is ok.

Did he ever have the ejector problem looked at by a smith or did he just go on shooting the gun until this major failure?

Doesn't look like an obstruction to me. Looks like a poor job of joining the monoblock to the barrels. Some are soldered as mentioned above and some are press fit. Had it been an obstruction, it more than likely would have been more catastrophic(just my guess based on experience). I don't see any evidence that the barrel is bulged. Looks like it just slipped apart and let the shell head separate from the hull.

They are known to be a cheap gun but most don't have issues with them. I bet they make it right for you.

Man I'm glad your brother wasn't seriously hurt or worse! He's very lucky. I'm another very happy yildiz owner. Put probably 2000 shells through my 12 ga o/u since 2010 and haven't had one single problem. I hope everything gets worked out.

From that picture it looks like there are two hulls in there. One in the barrel and one in the breech.

The one in the breech is the top chamber. The one in the barrel was the lower. Weird. Did it double when it was fired?

Good observations. If the barrel had been obstructed, you would have seen at the very least, barrel bulge. I don't see any of that from the pictures. They are cheap shotguns and because of that will have more problems on the whole than the other more expensive brands.

Be very firm with the manufacturer, get it fixed or ask for your money back.

                          Good luck.

Hmmm. Myself and several other people I know have had nothing but good luck with them. Hopefully, this is just an anomaly. As someone stated earlier, Briley's in Houston does all their warranty work. That's who you need to send it to.

What ever academy he went to is BS, he bought the gun from academy and they need to send it off to get it repaired . Which ever sales associate said you have to get a FFL and send it off is full of it , you take that gun back to academy and tell them they need to send it off !

You have any questions about that PM me
