    Small engine repair question?

I have a Swisher zero turn with a 18.5HP Briggs & Stratton motor that is leaking fuel/oil really bad when it is started. I am not very familiar with working on small engines but would like to fix it myself if possible. I took a video of it leaking for those in the know to take a look at. I am not sure if this is a stuck float in the carb or what exactly the issue is so I would appreciate input from those more experienced with small engine repair.

I dont really know the history on it because I bought it used a couple of weeks ago. The guy I bought it from said it had been in his storage for a year and he would start it periodically. It seemed to run fine other than some noisy spindles. I ordered the new ones and it sat in my driveway for a week and a half while I waited on the new parts. Once I got the new parts on and started it up this is what happened.

    Thanks

That doesn't look like gas to me. It looks like water with some gas in it. However I see no reason for it to be coming out from under the flywheel. Have you removed the dip stick and checked the oil? You said it sat in the drive way, did it get rained on?

It has rained here in the last couple of days, but would it start with water in it?

I would change the oil and oil filter.Check for cracked fuel lines going from tank to carb.It should have a inline fuel shut-off valve.Shut it off and see if the leak stops. It probably has bad hoses from the ethanol in the gas.And like huntinfool said been setting out in the rain, maybe rain water accumulated somewhere. But make sure you got good oil in it with a new filter.Water in the oil ain't no good.

              I thought it looked
Like water too. Bubbled up on the side of the mower as it ran down.

Check the dip stick for milky oil, a sign of water contamination. Otherwise it doesn't sound like water in your fuel since it wouldn't run that well. You can always loosen the bolt under the carburetor and drain the bowl to check for water there....

it also could be that the fuel pump is busted and filling the crank case full of gas those pumps are ran off a diaphragm

I agree, I wouldn't think it would start if full of water. I'm wondering where it is coming from. It is air cooled, so rain water is all I can think of.

Now if it is gas, with water in it, I see no reason why it would be coming out from under the flywheel.
At the end of the video I see some water drops. So there is water in there, but not necessarily full. If the float is stuck in the carb, the fuel would flood the cylinders usually when this happens the excess fuel comes out the exhaust. But perhaps the piston is pushing the fuel up and forcing it through the top seal. With out being there it would be hard to say. I'd start with taking the carb off and cleaning it, especially the float bowl, needle and seat.

My riding mower kinda did the same thing , but it was gas in the oil. My carb stuck and fuel shutoff did shut fuel off. Drained my gas tank and filled crankcase up. Only when I ran did the oil and fuel come out. I just went to Troy-Bilt and ordered new carb. Yea I could have probably put carb kit it. I just didn't have time.
Your case looks like water/oil mix. Have you checked oil lvl ? Milky ? Overfull ? Understand you said it has rain. Only thing I know of under flywheel is a crank seal shouldn't be any type fuel under it.

                          Thanks for all the replies.

The oil looked fine. It was a little low but still clear. I added some right before I shot the video. One thing I did not show on the video is that there was what appeared to be gas coming out of the exhaust as Huntinfool described.
