    Crossbow Repair?

Just bought my girlfriend (oneshotwonder) a brand new PSE Toxic croosbow off of Ebay and the darn thing won't engage the string when you pull it back. 15 days til season is hardly enough time to send it back and get a new one; any shops in Houston that could possibly take a look at it?

Switch the safety. On the crossbow my wife had the safety either had to be on or off and I can't remember which one. So try cocking it with the safety off and if that doesn't work put the safety on and retry it.

Tried all of that. Any other thoughts or ideas?

If I cock mine with the safety on it will not catch the string. I have to make sure it is not cocked, put it on fire and pull the trigger. Then cock it and mine will catch.

Check to see if the locking pin is up or down. Locking pin is the pin that holds the string back when it is cocked. Also you might want to pull the trigger, it might be hung in the rearward position.

I'll have to check that. I'm a newbie to the crossbow world.

I have been shooting an Xbow for a few years now but have never had a reason to go to a shop. I would bet any shop that sells xbows would be able to take a look at it for you and most likely fix it unless its something only the mfg can handle. I have spent zero time in bow shops but I have heard a lot of good things about Bowzone that is up north. West Houston Archery is another one I remember. Run a search if you need other options in your part of town there have been threads with good shop recommendations for just about all parts of Houston.

              Good luck.
