    Charlie Langston

Charlie was a heck of a bowhunter and target shooter, his records still stand. About three weeks after being inducted into the NFAA Hall of Fame he was robbed and shot dead in Cleveland TX. Charlie killed one of the robbers but two or three escaped with a large amount of cash. For a couple years there was a billboard in Cleveland asking for infomation and offering a reward.

Did they ever catch the ones that got away?

It seems like I heard that he was the father of the guy that opened the bowzone and west houston archery. I may be off on that.

Brian Langston is Charlie's son. He opened The Bow Zone and owns West Houston Archery (the biggest Mathews retailer in the world!!!) great archery shop, make sure if your in the area you stop in and check his store out.

Unfortunately to this day they have not caught the people responsible.

I first met Charlie around 1987 I was about 23 yrs old at the time. A good friend of his and mine Rodney Hoggart worked at the archery shop in Humble. He definitely was the Elvis of archery back then.

Prayers for the family and I hope they catch the scum bags.
