    Securing your rangefinder

Just curious how you guys mount or secure your rangefinders while hunting. Pics would be good!

I usually range objects as soon as I sit down, and then I just put my range finder on a tree limb, or somewhere on my tripod when hunting. I don't ever really pick it up again. If in the ground blind, i'll just set it on the ground and usually range right before I shoot.

Put the lanyard around my neck and stick it in one of my shirt pockets or inside my jacket if wearing one.

I wear mine on a lanyard around my neck tucked inside my camo jacket while walking and then out when I sit. I range various trails and spots and don't always use it again unless I have time.

I wear this on my belt.

The range finder is still attached with paracord so even if it doesn't find its way back into the pouch I don't lose it. I wear my bino's around my neck so I don't like anything else in my way.

In the pouch on my right. Can range while holding my bow ready to shoot.

I mostly use pink tape on trees to mark how far I'm shooting its pretty good and sufficient. I moved my feeder up some to make it a dead on 20 yards. I cut little pieces about an inch long and tacked them to the tree. 2 squares is 20 yards, 3 squares is 30, an 4 is 40 very easy to see also.

Gear keeper has a bunch of options. I went with one of their tethers after it cost me a shot at an elk a few years ago... Couldn't get the rangefinder out of my pocket when was scrunched down under a pine. Don't use it much for deer hunting as others have said I just have different spots all ready ranged, but for spot and stalk its been a big help.
