Made the trip down to the RGV to shoot in a sporting clays shoot on saturday and then went bird slaying along the river in Penitas Sunday/Monday.

Had one of the best weekends of my life with my dad, uncle and family. ONE of those weekends where you laugh so much about nothing. Here are just a few gooduns.

We did a "vintage gun" dove hunt this season, I had my wifes great grandfathers winchester 1897 and my dad had my grandpa's 16 gauge 1897 winchester as well. Just so you know I learned quickly why they called these old guns "widow makers"!

You gotta be careful with that exposed hammer but they're sweet guns. I'd love to put screw in chokes in my great grandfather's '97 so it has more then just full choke. It tenderizes too many dove as is
