    EPI-Lasik, Anyone done it?

I'm considering getting EPI Lasik done at Scott and White here in Temple. Has anyone gone through this procedure. My understanding is that its very similar to PRK in that they don't cut a flap on your eye like lasik but brush away the area where the correction is needed. Becasue of that it takes a little longer to recover that regular lasik but the end result should be the same.

Any feedback would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

Had PRK done the week after memorial day.
First few days are rough and the week after I had blurry vision. It was probably 3-4 weeks before my vision really came in. I had a +5 diptre astigmatism in my eyes which is horrible and am now at 20/20. Was worth it for me but I would not have told you that the first week.
Get some of the systane gel for the first week or two, that stuff is nasty but it will make your eyes feel a lot better during the healing process.

      Thanks for the feedback.

When you say blurry do you mean stumbling around bumping into stuff or just a little off? I'm trying to figure out how much time I need to take off to recover.

I could make out objects to where I did not bump into things but I was pretty blind the first couple days. Now my surgery was a pretty extreme case so major over correction was done. Not sure if it is as bad on eyes with less astigmatism.
No way could I have drove home myself after the surgery which was on a Thursday. I went back to work the following Monday and street signs were blurry to where I could not read them. It probably took until the following Thursday where things started clearing up.
If possible I would recommend taking a week off of work. Things start to improve rather quickly after they take the temporary contacts out which for me was at day 5.

Cool. My astigmatism isn't that bad. They told me the contact could come out two days later.

Anyone else have any experiance with EPI-Lasik or PRK?

I am on day 4 of recovery. I had a standard lasik procedure perforemd on one eye and an ASA style done on the other. Lasik only eye is pretty good. The other eye is like looking through a class of murky water. Hopefully it begins to improve sooner than later.
