Keeping deer out of hog trap.

I have soured corn in water, beer, and have soaked in diesel fuel and have even buried it but still end up trapping more deer than hogs. I have also moved the trap all over the property. Had to release a doe this morning. Can someone please tell me if there are other ways ideas to keep the deer out of the trap?

Cut the top out of it so they can jump out.

After catching deer in one trap, I built another with open top and nearly 5' tall but had 3 hogs jump out.

hang burlap over the entry. deer wont walk in because they cannot see. hogs do not care and will walk right in

build a new trap, open top, we have a circle trap and the deer go in and out no issues, good luck

It works. Have a friend in South Texas and he was having the same problem. never caught another deer in the trap after the burlap but caught several pigs

I tied a small rope across the door low enough that a deer would have to work to get under it. So far it has worked great. A pig's head is much lower and they go right on in. We also cut the tops out but just the center. We leave about a 10-12" section all the way around the top. I have had one or two still go out over the top but most don't.

Cut a piece of burlap cloth that is the same width as your door/gate opening and wire/ziptie it over the entry to your door. it should hang over entry almost to the ground. pretty much the same as a window as a window shade. the pigs will walk thru/ underneath it. the deer will stop because they cannot see.
