Cool snake, they find a frog or toad that puffs up too big to swallow so they bite this frog with a tooth in the upper jaw which lets the air out. Neat huh ?

They will also play dead. You turn them right side up and they instantly flop back over into their "I'm dead" pose. Cool snakes!

Love hognose snakes. They are the tamest snake I have ever encountered. After putting on a show, they typically become very docile and nonaggressive. Never caught one that you couldn't freely handle in just a couple of minutes. As a kid, I use to carry one around on my handlebars. He never would try to get off, just played the part of the best bike lock ever.

I got yelled at at school when I was in the 5th grade when I pulled a hog nose out of my pocket to show a sweet little girl. Turned out she wasn't real impressed. In fact she was down right ugly about it. The teacher was none too pleased, but that was mainly because of all the screaming.

They made me take it outside and let it go, then write on the chalkboard "I will not bring snakes to school. I will not bring snakes to school. I will..."

I wonder what would happen to a kid that did that today...
