I built an 8x8' treehouse for my kids around the central trunk of an oak. I used the plans found in The Dangerous Book for Boys. Trap door entry with a ladder up the trunk and rails all around. I didn't put a top on it, but it can be done. Good luck.

The two stands I use at the lease we have now are homemade. I built them to sit perfectly relative to where my shooting lanes are. Some tips:
- use 2 x 6's whenever possible
- use screws, not nails
- for the seat, use a plastic boat seat with pedestal and swivel
- make homemade ladders out of galvanized tubing. Construct in 4 or 6' sections
- you can pre-make the stand at home, then paint it and label the pieces
- attach boat seat pedestal to heavy board, something like 2 x 10 or 2 x 12"
