    (*&()&()&*__***** thieves got me!!!!!

Something funny was going on with my Cabelas Visa. Tried to use it at the gas pumps twice and both times was told to see the cashier. Called Cabelas and they said nothing was wrong with my card. It worked every where else just not the gas stations. Odd.

Yesterday, I was paying bills and noticed my Cabelas Visa bill was not in. Checked it online today and found $3900 in charges and I knew it should only be about $1000. I then found two charges totaling $2300 to a place in California and one in Washington State. I called the one in Washington State because it was a rifle scope dealer. He told me that he had actually called the person who placed the order and they sounded Russian or something. He agreed to refund the money through paypal and said he has been getting ripped off a bunch like this lately. He said the crooks find a third party to receive the goods and then forward it to wherever.

Called Cabelas and they went through their security questions and when I told her my address, it did not match. Neither my street address or my PO box matched what they had on file. She immediately transferred me to their fraud people. Somehow, according to him, someone had accessed my account ONLINE and changed the billing address twice this month. Hence, no Cabelas bill to my residence.

I don't have a clue about how they got my log in. Now I've had to close that account, get new cards ordered, check my credit rating, blah blah blah blah blah!

The best part about it is the guy in Washington State sent me the address and phone number where the delivery was made. Only got a recording so far.

I'd report that shipping address ASAP. I hate this stuff. Some POS people man.

You need to report it to the police in the city that the purchases made also.

Cabelas told you more than they told me. About a month ago, someone hacked my debit card info registered with the Cabela's online. I happened to catch the activity one morning when I was checking my bank account online and discovered several "pending transactions" to Cabela's. I immediatly contacted Cabela's and they connected me to Fraud Dept. Someone had tried over several days to order a couple of thousand dollars worth of merchandise. They were able to stop the transactions from going thru by contacting my bank and cancelling. They had a name, email address, and a ship to address somewhere in Ohio. They couldn't give me any info, siteing some kind of "Retaliation Law". To pursue it I would have to have local law contact Ohio Law. I got the impression this happens a lot with the Cabela's. It's a shame they give more protection to the criminal than they do their customers. IMO, their Fraud Division should be pursuing legal action too. Won't be ordering from them any time soon.

Well, I'm a retired state trooper and have called some Federal friends of mine to see if they can take a look into it. I won't bother the local PD with taking a report. They've got bigger fish to fry and won't do much with this anyway.

We had this happen to wifes credit card years ago.

They charged toys and plane tickets out of Florida.

It took over a year to get taken care of and off our credit report.

Just wanna give you the heads up it will take some time.

Can we hire you as private detective and have you hunt them down for us? You could retire early!
