I am thinking that my arrows are a little light. I am shooting carbon express blue streaks and my total arrow weight is 388 and shooting 70#. I am getting around 75 ft lbs kinetic energy. If I move up to a 488gr arrow and 273 GPS I can get 82 ft lbs kinetic energy. My question is with all today's arrows being lighter what's the best heavier arrow? Had anyone used the carbon express pile driver?

I'm shooting a 350gr. (total arrow weight) at 70# and getting just over 300fps. This gets me a pass through on just about every thing I shoot. I'm only shooting hogs and deer. On rare occasions I don't get a complete pass through, on the big pigs, I've always had an exit wound. I guess if I were to hunt something larger, I would look into a heavier arrow. Right now I like flat trajectory, so my range estimations (errors) are a little less critical.

I'm a fan of Easton arrows and have hunted with the FMJ's for some time. I dropped them this year to pick up a little speed but would go back to them in a heartbeat.
Here's a link to a thread that I recently started comparing various arrow weight and speeds. I created a simple spreadsheet that will calculate KE, MOM and FOC.
I'm planning to hunt the Axis with a 125 grain BH this year.
