    Best binocs for the $

Need to replace some binoculars. Don't want junk, but not looking to spend a grand or more either.

Suggestions? Can I find some worthwhile for under 200?

I have some Nikon's that were about $150. They have been great so far. Got them at Academy.

Vortex Great glass and a top notch warranty. I drove over a pair in my golf cart and vortex replaced without blinking an eye.

Vortex, oculus ( made by vortex for bass pro) Nikon. I would go to a cabelas or bass pro and look through a bunch of them ad go from there.

I just bought some Redfield Rebel 10X42 binoculars for $100 (sale at Cabelas-Academy price matched) with an additional $25 rebate if purchased through 8/31. I can't afford to spend a lot of money on binocs right now, and the binos are good for the money.

I also have a pair of Pentax 12X50 binos (porro prism) that are amazingly clear. I got these as a 10 year anniversary present at work, but unfortunately they aren't water proof.

Alpen Optics. hands down. I've converted many Leopold and Nikkon and Swark users.

I only use Leupold glass on all of my rifles (except the 22s) but I have the same Pentax PCF WPii 12x50 Binos that I bought several years ago that I am very impressed with. That being said, they are not Zeiss, Swarovski, Leica or Leupold......it is all relevant to your budget. I can only say that I have been extremely pleased and amazed by the clarity of the Pentax for an optic that cost so little. If I recall I think I paid around a buck fiffy for them!

I am a Nikon fan, hands down. I have switched all of my rifle scopes to Nikon and just got a pair of binoculars. Got them at D i c k 's (had to space it because it kept blocking out the word) Sporting Goods on sale and saved $20 on them.

Yeah, I have the cheaper Pentax XCF which run anywhere from $70-$100 on the internet. I actually was considering the PCF 12X50, since they are waterproof, until the Redfields went on sale. With that said, the Pentax XCF are fine as long as it isn't raining.
