    Placing Dove Decoys ?

This year I will be using dove decoys for the first time. I have purchased two mojo voodoo battery opperated as well as two standard decoys. My plan is to place the decoys in a dead tree at the edge of one of our tanks on the lease. Is this a good plan or not ?

Use the stake to put them in the ground within 15 or so yards of you. Face them into the wind.

Put them in the middle of an open area about 20-30 yards in front of you.

They will turn birds from far away in your direction. Want them to be able to see them from as many angles as possible.

Try not to shoot the Mojo's as the dove come in but not a big deal if you do!

My seasoned mojo's have been smacked many times and are still kickin'!

Do you have to worry about facing them into the wind if they are battery opperated ?

Don't put them on the ground.. most here will shoot the crap outta them, and claim to be hunting flying pigs and swimming armadillos..

Most birds do but for dove it doesn't really matter. They walk all over the place eating, etc..

I place mine right in the center of the grain pile. Works like a charm.....

Just make sure to put them where the doves fly. They are magic and won't bring doves where they aren't any. Besides that, good advice above.

I put my clip-ons on a barbed wire fence and wait untill a bunch of them land next to the dekes. Then I see how many of those sittin' birds I can skillet in one shot.....CUZ I NEED THE MEAT!

I built a portable tree to hang my decoys and mojo on it. Works like a charm.

At least it's hunting related, somewhat rare in the campfire section.
