If you moved to Dallas, where would you build / buy?

Midlothian Schools. There is a little Irish community called Ovilla right down the road. Beautiful places, zero crime rate, large lots, and easy access to South dallas or down town.

That's where I am at and if you like traffic congestion and spoiled rotten teenagers and snobby housewives then this is the place for you! Won't find much southern hospitality here.

I would look around Denton either west or North. I live just west of Denton and it is great out here. I can be in downtown Fort Worth or downtown Dallas in 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

I would look south Dallas if you like the city life I'd look in midlothian or waxahachie. If your looking more country area there is a lot in that area. Like maypearl, Palmer, Italy place like that where you aren't to far from a bigger city.

Go far from DFW. I cannot stand DFW. Soulless city IMO. Nice to visit but that is it.

Do you need to be close to Dallas in particular, or near the dfw area in general?

If you are looking to find good schools while maximizing your backdoor hunting opportunities there are lots of good choices up here.

I have been watching and evaluating North TX by that exact criteria for about 10 years - for myself and clients.

I used to be in the outside sales world covering Ntx, and now I'm a real estate broker here.

Good in Dallas is all about your budget.....

HP is great - my daughter is in hpisd and you just can't do better....

White rock - i used to live on the lake, used to be affordable, now you might as well move on up to hp....

I live in Forney now and love it. You can get everything you are wanting except the hunting on your place. You can get in downtown Dallas in 25 minutes.

Another vote for Forney. Great schools,several nice neighborhoods on 1 AC lots with plenty of room.

I have a good friend that has 11+ acres and house, barn, pens, pond etc. all built around 2007 I believe.
