    Interior decorating a hunting cabin

I know the words "interior decoration" and "hunting cabin" don't really go together, but you know what I'm looking for. We just bought a four bedroom home down the road that we're refinishing for our hunters to stay in (for those who don't want to stay in our cabins). Since y'all are so good with ideas I was hoping you could post some pictures of the inside of some of your man space for me to get ideas from. I've got the mandatory skulls and mounts for the walls, but need some ideas for finishing the walls and floors and stuff. We're do-it-yourselfers, so simple is good. How about some ideas guys and gals?

I would throw some Texas wrought iron rustic type decor and maybe some sort of a mossy oak camo worked in with some of different hues of tan in the lodge. Love the stuff.

Keep- Just to keep it classy I was thinking about decorating the master bedroom in a red and white, winged-wheel motif Let me know when you're ready for that Wing's jersey, k?

Buck wild- I like that! Did you just freehand the black over white?

Lots of stuff made from wood. Can't go wrong with naturally finished wood. Men like wood. And, everything has to have a function.

Decorate the ceiling with old arrows. I've seen that done it was pretty cool.

Plenty of bow racks on the walls with places for arrows.

                  Good sittin' chairs.

I wish I had pics... At my friends place near Freer he used weathered old fence pickets on the walls a little less than halfway up(wainscoating I think its called) and finished it off with some old 2x4 (routed to fit over the pickets) as chair rail. The base board was just the old pickets ripped with a tablesaw. It looks amazing and a 16x20 room only cost him about $50.00 for the nails, saw blade, router bit. Floors are raw saltillo(got the tile from a discount/overstock type store)cheap. The walls are painted a cool cream/yellow which makes his animal mounts and other decor really stand out.

My son's room has a western/cowboy theme. One cool thing that was cheap was the curtain.

I just cut a staight limb/tree (maybe 3 inch diameter) and used it for a curtain rod. To attach to the wall, I just cut off two pieces of the same limb about 6-8 inches long and screwed that into the wall. Then just lashed the "curtain rod" with leather straps for that vintage look. Found some fake leather looking curtains to go with it.

A buddy of mine did this to some walls in his house. It makes the walls look like they are covered in leather. Really cool and very cheap. Here's how he did it:

"It is just that brown construction paper you buy in the rolls. Need to get 1 gallon of Elmer’s glue. Mix 1 to 1 with water in 5 gallon bucket.
Tear pcs. of paper and crumble them up. Submerse the in glue/water solution and then spread it on the wall."

I can get a pic if you wish.
