    Ford 5.4 question

My buddy has a 2006 Ford Expedition with the 5.4 engine. The engine light came on. Diagnosed as cylinder 6. He replaced the spark plug and coil. The light went off but today it's back on again diagnosed cylinder 6. Anyone have an idea as to what needs to be fixed?

Try exchanging the next cylinder coil with the new one, reset the cel and see if the code comes back as the new cylinder.

Is it hard to start when cold? My Ford had similar problem but was hard to start when cold. It was a fuel injector leaking into the cylinder.

          Code is P0306

          Will switch out coils

Not hard to start when cold.

Exactly. Swap coils to a known good one. If the CEL still comes back on then swap the injectors from another known good cylinder. If it still keep occuring then run a compression test and if that comes out good then it's either a wire harness problem or computer problem.

I've seen a wire harness problem on a Mustang that was giving a miss fire code. He changed out all injectors and coils but it was still occurring. When I found the short, I was able to pull up on the wire loom and the miss went away. Let it fall back into place and the miss came back.
