Anyone have an idea when they will hit the dealerships?

Does anyone have an opinion on the new engines?

The information that I have found via Google has been vague at best.

I was told early to mid October around the 9th. Not sure what engine yet. My guess is the one they have now until later in the year then go with fuel injection

Fuel injection?

My daughter's 1996 Tacoma has fuel injection. They've been doing that for quite a while.

Engines and Fuel Economy
Information about the engines are still unknown. There is a lot of speculation, but there is no official information from Toyota. It is very likely that the new 2014 Toyota Tacoma will use V-6 engines and new immediate hypodermic injection engines of 4.6 liter or 5.7-liter with 4-cylinder. It is expected that these engines with direct injection will improve vehicle efficiency by 5 to 10 percent. There is a possibility that some 2014 Tacoma models will be offered with the previous 2.7 L engine that generates 190 hp and 200 ft-lb of torque. All engines will be mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
New 2014 Toyota Tacoma will have improved fuel economy and it is estimated that in models with V-6 engine average fuel consumption to be around 26 mph, while the model with the V-4 engine fuel economy is estimated at 30 mph.Finally please note that this model will be offered with 2WD.

I was reading that the redesign for the tacos will likely not hit untill 2015/2016. I hope they do something allsome with them cause I wasnt at all impressed with the gen 3 tundras!
