So I am considering buying a .257 roberts rifle and I haven't seen much ammo for that specific caliber. Is it hard to find ammo for a .257 roberts usually?

That is a pretty oddball caliber, it can be found but don't expect to find it in walmart like you would .30-06, .270, .308, or .223. Academy usually has some along with gander mt. The mom and pop shops usually also keep some in stock. And they won't have a lot of selection either only a few different brands to choose from compared to other calibers. -
