Suggestions on bolting safe down on carpet

Just bought a new safe and I am wanting the great minds opinions on bolting it down over the carpet in my master bedroom. Want to preserve the carpet underneath as much as possible so if in the future it can be moved if need be with little damage left behind....

    Thanks in advance!

You gotta drill thru the carpet into floor or remove carpet and save it to put it back in when you move safe. If you put it on the carpet the pad and carpet will be compressed and prolly never revive back to original shape.

Depending on how heavy the safe is I would either put it where you want it and then carefully cut out the carpet using the safe as a template. If the safe is too heavy then I would make a template out a piece of ply wood and do the same. Once the carpet and pad is removed then put the safe in place and anchor it down using concrete anchor bolts.

This is what I did when I lived in Dallas.

I honestly wouldn't worry about bolting it down (I have one bolted down myself). If someone breaks into your house and has enough time and the equipment to pick the heavy sumbuck up, they're gonna get it whether its bolted down or not.

But if u are still **** then just bolt a piece of angle to it that won't allow it to go through a doorway

I am wanting to bolt it down more for a safety issue, don't want it tipping forward on anyone

Not trying to be a smart arse (well, maybe a little), but do you have your fridge bolted down for safety reasons?

The fridge door is not as heavy as the safe door. That could make a difference.

The weight of the door shouldn't be an issue once you fill the safe.
