First preseason buck

We have never seen a buck on our place before rut in the past. I pulled these pics off my trail camera yesterday after having it out for two weeks. Needless to say I'm excited! He looks young but its nice seeing a buck this early for the first time.

BTW the date, year, and time are wrong... I hate when I do that!

That's what worries me, there are a few guys at a choke point on the creek a ways down from us that shoot anything and everything. We have spoke with them a few times but it didn't do any good. I suspect that's why we don't see many bucks till rut. Our doe population has been on the rise so maybe we will be able to keep a buck or two on our small 50 acre place. We have seen up to 8 different buck in one night on our cameras during rut but not one this early in the year. Fingers will be crossed he makes it!

There are a ton of squirrels on the hit list. They make great bow practice... in season of course
