I've not noticed that deer seem to be any more afraid of a feeder w/ or w/out a camera. If its there all the time, I think they get use to it, just like your stand, blind, feeder, etc. I don't think it makes one bit if difference. I do agree w/ the extra human activity though. Usually carry my replacement cards out there w/ me and change them when I'm headed in from a hunt.

Ive never had a picture of a big buck tripping over the feed pen while trying to run away when the flash went off. Had lots of pics of them starring directly in the camera when it took a picture and they were still there eating in the next picture.

keep the camera up, east,tx bucks become nocturnal during season, except the rut. no deer in east,tx.

I think a better idea is during the season is to only pull/swap cards when you come out of a blind after a sit - instead of making a bunch of extra trips during the day to get them.

I've put cameras by my feeders and off the trail coming to the feeder and see deer off the trail that never come to the feeders . But I've never seen one spook off of a camera . Maybe your buddies shouldn't pull their cards every 5 days the extra sent is spooking them .

Don't use them at all myself; I like not knowing and the anticipation that goes along with it. I may not have the Trophy buck coming to my stand, but at least I wont know it.Some people's season is over before it begins.

I don't beleive the issue is with the cameras themselves, rather people wanting to check them too often leaving excessive scent near feeders ect. If you're judicious about how/when you check them there shouldn't be an issue.

I purposely left out a few details but a few of you guys nailed it. The people in question are of the older generation, do not bow hunt and just like to sit in their box blinds when it is not too cold or rainy. I do agree that checking the cards should be limited. Up to now - we have been quite eager to see the latest photos - I am going to see if a compromise will work.
