    Speaking of Snakes.......

In my backyard right here in East Texas a couple days ago....
That's the Real Deal ! The first thing I thought about was my Toddler Grand-daughter stumbling around 10' from there a few days before.
( Poor critter didnt live another minute )
This one certainly wont be a future danger but I will be ever cautious from now on. We live right by the woods and we used to be plagued with Copper-Heads until I got rid of all of the Pines and Pine straw in the winter.
( I killed 19 Copperheads in my yard in one year.)
Everybody please be careful and watch the younguns; especially if any kind of
brush or woodpile etc that provides favorable conditions for these things..
There is a young boy in San Antonio that needs your prayers desperately right now. He is mentioned in another post. He was bitten by a Large Rattler.

I'm in the minority here but I don't see them as a serious threat as compared to a rattler . I won't kill them

After researching further the other day. You are correct. Coral has very potent venom but not long fangs to inject venom. More of a chewing action. Next time I see one ; i wont be quite as emotional but I had never seen one before and could only remember the "Red and Yellow" saying I had heard for 50 years .......

I understand the reaction. Myself and my brother started catching and keeping snakes when we were very young, much to my dads ire. I would love to find one of those in the wild, but don't live in the right place. I will pretty much pick up any animal and would love to handle one of those. Cool find. I know, I have been told I ain't right in the head.
