Hear about this? After spending 5 years in the Marines, Steven Rhodes wanted to try and play college football. He was welcomed as a walk-on at Middle Tennesee State. But now, the NCAA has ruled him ineligible for a year because he played "organized sports" between high school and college. What "organized sports are they talking about? Military recreational league football while in the Marines. Basically intermurals. Ridiculous.

I think the rule was written to apply to guys who a few years after high school played semi-pro then went back to college. Nobody at the NCAA could step forward and make a common sense ruling on this ? My guess is they make it right after the public backlash.Comment
