Our church used to have a website, but the man that started it and kept it up has quit the church so it hasn't been maintained- in fact I was told he took it down. Our church is struggling right now. We are without a preacher and our last preacher created a lot of division and turmoil before he left. There are just a few of us holding it together and we are looking for all ways to reach out. I would like to see us get a website back up and running- young folks are more into technology and this could be one way to reach out. I am not very "techie" but I could learn how to keep it up if we could get it started and someone show me how to keep it updated and fresh.
We all know that church membership has been in decline in our country for many years- I don't think it is because fewer people believe in God but that fewer people like what they see in churches. I am living proof of that. I quit going to church for about 35 years but never quit believing. Some good friends and my wife (before she was my wife) led me back to church and my week doesn't seem fulfilled now unless I am there on Sunday. We are a small group (only about 12 or 14 each Sunday) of God loving, God fearing folks that want to help spread the word of God but we really struggle on ideas to fulfill this. I just thought that if we could get our website up and running we could use this as a means to reach out to younger folks that are looking for a spiritual home. I refuse to let my church die without trying anything I can. And saying that, any Nacogdoches area folks that haven't found a place to worship God without a lot of expectations other than come with an open heart there is a place on the pew with me and the wife at the First Church of God.
