    defective firearm return

I just purchased a new Sig SP2022 in .40 from Cabelas. The gun looks good and feels great.

I took it to the range on Sunday and immediately it jammed at about every 3 or 4 rounds. I did everything I could to stabilize my grip/hold on the gun to suppress the recoil to no avail. I painstakingly shot 50 rounds through the gun with no improvement.

Can this gun be considered "deffective" and be returned to Cabelas?

    thanks!

They will be happy to ship it to Sig for repairs I bet.

I don't think guns can be returned..by law. I think they will send it back to the manufacturer for you. Could just be bad/cheap ammo?

I'm betting cabelas has a no return policy. did you strip it, clean it, and lube it? are you shootin reloads or factory ammo?

I bought a Taurus for the wife against my better judgement. Stripped it down cleaned it, oiled it up and first time we shot it it jammed every 2-3 rounds. Stripped it down again and put it back together and haven't had a single jam since. Maybe some are just picky about the way the spring sits ect

They mentioned returns for defective products.

Best thing to do is just call them.

I was using cheap ammo, and I have not striped/cleaned it yet.

clean it and lube it, then try to shoot it again. dry pistols dont work well at all.

I had a marlin rifle that gave me issues right out of the box. Contact sig they will want several things , spent ammo, images and such.... they will take it and have their people look thru it. Marlin got mine back to me in 3-4 weeks...

Probably get some good clean ammo and it'll work. My wife's taurus will not shoot any kind of cheap ammo. Especially the Wolf steel casings.

I had a Thompson Center muzzleloader that I shot for a year and put about 200 rounds through it. It NEVER patterned right even for a muzzleloader. I took it back to Cabelas to ask if they knew where I could send it. They told me that if I had the receipt that would exchange it for a similar one or I could get a different gun and pay the difference. I gave them the receipt, they gave me a new gun. The Thompson Center Triumph I exchanged it for has been a killing machine.
