How do I know if there are Indian Artifacts on my property?

I have always been fascinated with the artifact threads and what some of you guys find. I would love to be able to find some of those things but I know ZERO about it. Is there something on the property to look for or do you just wander around and look for arrow heads on the top of the ground? I have a lease in Schleicher County that looks like prime indian ground but I don't have a clue how to tell if there's anything there or not.

Look for creeks or dry washes. Check in the beds or along the banks. If you see flint flakes in concentration you might dig some. Look in plowed fields after a rain for points. That is about all I know!

There are lots of dry creek beds and washes on the property but no plowed fields. It's like the rock capital of the world out there.

Check the high ground as close as possible to water. Look for flakes of flint. Post pics of what u find.

Not to steal the OP's thunder but I have a place in Fayette that has dry creeks beds and rocks all over it. It is about as raw and virgin as you can get with property these days. Would love to have someone come out and help tell me if its worth looking for anything on...and look for stuff?

No worries here, I'm in the same boat.

If your land is in Texas (or OK) and has/had, at any time in last 12,000 years, water on/near it, there's a real good chance you have artifacts of some sort. The places to look have been mentioned above.

Like mentioned above look for pieces/flakes of flint on the high ground of the draws/creeks. Any cave that hasn't been touched is a goldmine to dig in. If you find a bunch/piles of burnt rock Along with flakes/pieces/chips of flint I would dig around that area.
