Mine just knocked over my full glass of sweet tea on the floor as I was reading this post.

Great pics!!!
My lab Jessie in the pic above ate 3 of my wifes cell phones. My wife goes out on the front porch to read and would leave her phone out on the table. She would get very pizzed at Jessie but being the good dad/husband I am, I would blame the problem on my wife for leaving her phone out there. Always sticking up for my girl Jessie.

Incredible how fast they grow. She's 14 weeks old and weighs over 24 pounds, she's gained 6 pounds in 2 weeks! I swear I put her down for a nap when she wakes up, she's taller and her legs are longer.
After a little trepidation about going in the water in the pool and the creek, we've been working with her on the pool. I took her to the creek today working retrieves with a mallard wing on dry land, and she wanted the wing so bad she went right into the creek to retrieve it several times. Proud Papa in SJ.
Backyard pose
Retrieving (she's a retriever after all). Oct 19 duck opener, she andher father Savage was born May 21, in his first duck season starting at 5 months he retrieved 152 birds and lost 2 for my son. BTW I've never shot 152 birds in a duck season.

3 more days, and I weighed her at 26# this morning. She's like watching a sunflower growing.
I'm following the "Water Dogs" book for training, and for a pup who would not go in the water less than 2 weeks ago, here's where she is this morning. A mallard wing with a piece of towel wrapped and knotted around it so it has some weight when wet to throw has her retrieving in the water. She did a swimming retrieve later in a deeper section of the creek. I'll continue with this for a week then start training in some bigger ponds. Who's got a little excitement in their voice and can't wait for duck season?
