    Some POC fishing success.

Fished the Oilfield Helping Hands fishing tournament yesterday with some of my customers. We had a blast and caught a bunch of fish. My customers were hardcore wade fisherman but i elected to stay in the boat due to not being fully recovered from knee surgery. I was fishing alone on the boat all day which i hadn't done in a long time but it was very relaxing. They all were using live croaker and some lures. I was using croaker and some big chunks of skipjack i caught on a corky. It didnt take long and we were on the fish. I hung around within a couple hundred yards cause i had all the drinks incase they got thirsty. Over all we landed over 20 keeper reds biggest was 29.5". We also landed around 18-20 trout biggest was 21.5". I landed 9 reds and 2 trout by myself off the boat. One trout i caught early on a corky and the other one ate a big chunk of skipy. Since we were in a hurry to get to the weigh in we didnt even clean the fish so i dont have a full stringer pic. By the end of the awards i was so beat i told them they could have all my fish cause i still had my 2 hour drive.

Total number of teams was 92.

Our team ended up 5th place on the redfish division with a 8.06lb red.

Whats crazy is we released the 29.5" red which wouldve put us in 3rd on the tag division. They took for granted that big reds have always come in years past. Not this time..lol

Heres a few pics i took when i remembered to do so.

Poco sporting the TBH buff. Boy was it a life saver. It was down right brutal pretty much all morning. Notice the big rigs behind me. They had a big fish pot so the heaviest any fish could be weighed in. We never made it to fish for shark which stinks cause heavy fish only went 19 lbs.

Fishing has picked up in the last couple of weeks in POC. We have had good luck catching reds on a falling tide in the back lakes. We have been fishing the wind ward shorelines in knee deep water.

^^^^yup!! Sounds about right. All our trout came from the same area and depths also.
