Get with BradJ74. He has a big quail operation and can certainly tell you the basics.

He has given me some quail eggs for kids school projects and we have hatched 2 batches in a very basic incubator. Its very easy to get them to hatch. Now raising them to eating size is a different story.

My grandpa did it a long time ago, and I'm planning on doing it again. This is off google. You can make it as large as you want.

We release however we raise about 5000 a year I'll have to recheck the dimmensions but its a good 50ft long by 30ft approx with 3 sections all with tin roofing its chicken wire with cement bases have feeders in each section and aluminum drawers for the hens against the walls. we have another house with just incubators inside. The water systems are just dog bowls attached to hoses with the floaters in side. We also raise pheasants, geese and turkeys. We raise them at medina lake (puddle) the ship them to wilson and webb county to our ranches to hunt and bring back the populaton. We charge $5/bird if you bring your own dog or $7/bird if we use ours. goodluck!

i raised them for a while for eating and a little dog training. mine were kept in an elevated rabbit hutch i had around and did fine. had a wooden box in it (no floor) so they could get out of the wind.
fairly easy to keep-starting laying eggs after about 4 months, 36 quail averaged about a dozen eggs a week or so.
Only bad thing is once one gets sick, they all get sick. never lost just one-always seemed to be 5 or 6 at a time.
