Can anyone explain this too me? I see it everywhere now and I don't know if there is something behind it or if we have just gotten so lazy that we can't say America anymore...it has been annoying me to see because I'm afraid it's the later. Please explain if there is something behind this...

George W. Bush's accent often sounded like he was saying 'Merica instead of America. I know people used it when making fun of him or impersonating him. I'm assuming that is where it is from.Comment

It's a sign of blue collar worker as opposed to stuffy pressed white shirt and tie. it points to the roots of our founding or hard work, dirty hands, sweat laden clothing and building a strong country. its the backbone of the culture of the middle class and farm businesses across this great land. it's pride.
